ABOUT US
Elizabeth Makhethane opened Kids for Christ in 2011.
“After 25 years of working with college students at various higher learning institutions, and sincerely wanting to help a lot of students, it came to my mind what I am trying to do was to build their self-esteem, mold them for their careers and future, I should start my work at a lower level of teaching. I have been a Sunday school teacher for over 10 years as well and I learnt a great lesson from observing college students and “students” in my Sunday school that what and how a child has been taught will reflect later in their lives. This inspired me to create a school that I can teach children and influence parents as well in shaping the children’s lives early.”
SERVICES
- As a centre, we ensure that we provide nutritious food in an environment that safe and clean for children to learn and play.
- We believe we are in a partnership with the parents or guardians of a child in caring and teaching the child, and both relationships mean much to a child, we therefore have functions like concert or activities and trips that specifically built self-esteem of children.
- Our services committed to developing a curriculum that creates child centred, play based environment which empowers children to actively pursue their own learning. We use qualified teachers and trained staff to achieve this goal. We recognise that the establishment of daily routines is essential for developing children. We strive to provide a program of activities which encourage the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, creative and language development for children who attend the centre.
- As a Christian faith based centre, we believe in teaching the children about God, Jesus as our Saviour, hence we have Christian based programs and our morning circles are all about worship and prayer.
- We provide counseling, handle the children with care and gentleness and support and school readiness.
We have an in-house training program that ensure that our staff is trained on work based in alignment with our curriculum and vision.
